I Love My CitiBank ThankYou Preferred Card

Written by abbyavatar

When the bank, which I had been a customer of for several years prior, had decided to end its reward program, I knew it was time to make the switch to a better card. I spent a significant amount of time researching for a new card, with a better reward program, and what I found was CitiBank’s ThankYou program and CitiBank’s ThankYouPreferred card.

I signed up for the Citi ThankYou Preferred Card with $150 in free gift cards and I haven’t been disappointed yet; this card is great! I get five points for every $1 I spend at my local gas stations, drug stores, and¬†supermarkets, and one point for all other purchases. This is, of course, on top of the $150 worth of ThankYou Points I received just for signing up with CitiBank.

Other than the fact that this card offers a great reward system, I also chose this card because there are no limits or expiration on my ThankYou reward points. This means that I can keep earning with my ThankYou Preferred card without any restrictions. I even get an annual bonus just for being a cardholder. What’s even better is that this bonus goes up one percent for every year that I am a card member.

I only have to use my card once every twelve months to keep it active, but of course I use it all the time to get more free stuff with my ThankYou reward points. I can link my ThankYou Preferred card to my other Citi accounts and get even more points for banking with Citi. There are so many great rewards to choose from, and I can redeem for as little as 100 points, which is much lower than any other reward card I’ve owned in the past. My ThankYou points can be used to redeem everything from cameras, iPads, and tablets, to music, travel rewards, jewelry, and even stuff for pets. My personal favorite item, which I purchased with my ThankYou points is the Kate Spade purse I redeemed last month. I can also get points for purchasing from any of over six hundred partner vendors, which are stores I normally shop at anyway. One vendor provides up to 12 points for every $1 spent!

I’m thankful to have found a bank that actually rewards me for being a loyal customer.
